SAFET is excited to announce our 2023 in-country hosts, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF), Center for Coastal and Marine Resources Studies (CCMRS) and ID Food. MMAF is a government ministry that organizes marine affairs and fisheries within the Indonesian government. CCMRS is committed to developing sustainable coastal and marine management systems that improve the welfare of the local communities. IDFood is focused on achieving three main objectives: supporting national food security, increasing the inclusiveness of farmers, breeders and fishermen and becoming a world-class food company.
Since 2014, biennial SAFET conferences have brought together technology implementers with technology providers to focus on ways to leverage new and emerging technologies to address the biggest challenges facing the sustainability of our global fisheries and seafood sectors. SAFET conferences provide a forum for fishers, industry representatives, fishery managers, scientists, policy-makers and other fishery stakeholders to come together with technology experts, developers and service providers to keep abreast of the latest technological developments, create solutions and gain a better understanding of the role that technologies can play to improve both the management of wild capture fisheries and the function of global seafood supply chains.
The 2023 conference steering committee aims to build on the successful outcomes of previous events by designing a conference program centered around the theme: Impact at Scale for a Sustainable and Resilient Future. Please join us from October 3rd-5th, 2023 to network, learn and share at the fifth biennial SAFET conference in beautiful Bali, Indonesia.
