What is EMCAP?
SAFET is beginning the process of organizing the Electronic Monitoring Community: Asia Pacific (EMCAP), a cross-sector community of practice and innovation comprised of industry, technology developers, NGOs, and fishery managers that will meet on a regular basis to advance the adoption of camera-based EM systems in the region.
What we’ve heard is that fisheries stakeholders across the Asia-Pacific region welcome shared conversations around EM program design and implementation. Most people we talk to understand that EM is the direction things are moving, but they still have a lot of questions. Our aim is to create an active forum for information sharing and a knowledge base that Asia-Pacific stakeholders can draw from as they refine their fishery management practices.
Please connect with EMCAP and tell us a little about yourself.
